Our opinion about the H1B Fee
Now might be one of the best opportunities so far this year to secure a visa sponsored role in the UK.
In case you missed the news, the Trump administration announced on Friday that it plans to require companies to pay $100,000 per year for each H-1B visa.
This is causing many employers to double down on UK talent. They're more open than ever to offering sponsorship here, which costs just a fraction of what they'd pay to hire US talent on an H-1B visa.
For the last few days, my LinkedIn feed has been full of UK-based startups actively looking to secure top talent, much of which previously focused on the H-1B route.
And this isn't just for UK grads. Many of these companies are also offering relocation packages and full sponsorship for anyone abroad looking to move to the UK.
If I were job hunting right now, I'd be DM'ing and cold emailing these companies to take full advantage of this moment.
